Tenerife: Our Favorites
We absolutely love Tenerife and spend as much time exploring the island as we can. Over the years, we’ve discovered so many amazing spots, but here are the experiences that capture our hearts the most. And keep in mind — this is just a glimpse; there’s so much more waiting to be explored!

TEIDE, MASCA
Teide Volcano
Visit Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and one of the tallest volcanoes in Europe, rising 3,718 m above sea level. Hike and take breathtaking photos in this otherworldly volcanic landscape and, if possible, ride the cable car to the summit for panoramic views. On the way down, stop in Vilaflor — one of the highest villages in Spain — and enjoy lunch at any local restaurant you prefer.
Masca
Drive the winding mountain roads through lush greenery to reach Masca, a charming village nestled in a dramatic volcanic gorge. The landscape here is a striking combination of volcanic rock formations and forested slopes, making it perfect for a scenic walk through the valley. After exploring, enjoy a meal in a local restaurant and sip some wine while soaking in the views.

TO THE EAST-NORTH
Icod de los Vinos & Garachico
Explore the picturesque towns of Icod de los Vinos and Garachico, both rich in history and character. Icod de los Vinos is famous for its ancient Drago Milenario, a thousand‑year‑old dragon tree, and charming old town. Nearby Garachico, founded in the 15th century, invites you for coffee with incredible views and awe‑inspiring volcanic rock formations along the coast.
Los Gigantes
Marvel at the sheer cliffs of Los Gigantes, which plunge dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean. Wander around the small village, or linger by the marina and enjoy dinner by the port while taking in the breathtaking coastal scenery.

TO THE WEST NORTH
Taganana & Anaga Forests
Drive through the lush, ancient Anaga Mountains, known for their dramatic scenery and panoramic viewpoints. There are many scenic lookouts along the way with truly unforgettable vistas. In Taganana, relax on the black volcanic sand beaches, enjoy fresh seafood at a seaside restaurant, and continue soaking up the beauty of this rugged, natural landscape.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Spend a day in Santa Cruz, Tenerife’s vibrant capital. Wander the narrow historic streets filled with charming architecture, enjoy shopping and cafés, visit museums, or take a leisurely walk along the waterfront. Don’t miss Palmetum Park, a beautiful botanical garden with a stunning collection of palms. It’s also an ideal place for breakfast before heading to Taganana or other destinations.
